The Rotary Club of Karen (RCK) with conjunction with The Hub Karen is planning a Charity Walk on Saturday 26th November 2016. The 10 km walk will be used as a fundraising event to support projects focused on providing clean water, fighting disease, supporting education, promoting peace and economically empowering communities within the Karen area.
Projects currently being undertaken by the Rotary Club of Karen include:
- Karen Police Station Children’s Library
- Karen Technical Training Institute for the Deaf – Water, Literary & Economic Empowerment
- Kuwinda Community – off Langata Road – Literacy, Sanitation & Economic Empowerment
- Nkaimurunya Primary School – Literacy, Girl child dignity pack and hygiene management
The walk will start from 6.00 a.m at the main Karen-Hub Square and we are targeting about 2,500 walkers drawn from Karen residents, surrounding schools, business and community members. The walk will commence and finish at The Hub courtyard and thereafter of plenty of activities and entertainment.
