The Rotary club of Karen is part of Rotary International in District 9212. It is part of a global network of 34,000 clubs and 1.2 million volunteers aimed at providing service to local and overseas communities in need of support.

The Rotary club of Karen was chartered on January 30, 2007 with the help of the DG representative . Rtn David White who is an honorary Member. The Charter President was Rtn. Jeff Bamford.

The club has no employees and therefore pays no salaries. All projects are achieved through the voluntary contributions (particularly of their time and effort) by members of the club and their families, and through requesting sponsorship and assistance from the public, businesses and/or organisations.
