During the month of September, The Rotary Club of Karen, in conjunction with the Rotaract Club of Karen, and Oxford publishers, provided Mentorship and donated books to two schools, and The Rotary Club of Ongata Rongai, as one of our Babies..

The two schools that we visited are Nkaimurunya Primary School on the 8th September 2022, and then St. Mary’s Primary School, Karen, on the 15th September 2022. We also did a third donation to RC Ongata Rongai for their book drive, one of our Grandchildren!

Each September Rotary Worldwide marks the Basic education and literacy month. During this month our goal at The Rotary Club of Karen is to strengthen the capacity of communities, to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy. We support education for all children, and literacy for children and adults.

Members of The Rotary Club of Karen, and The Rotaract Club of Karen held mentorship sessions, and distributed books to Nkaimurunya and St. Mark’s Primary School. Both of these schools are within the wider Karen area. A total of 281 students received KCPE revision books donated by Oxford publishers. Sanitary towels were also distributed to the girls.
