The Rotary Club of Arbroath situated on the North East coast of Scotland was delighted to collaborate with The Rotary Club of Karen to obtain a Global Grant for a second time, the first being a large literacy project in Nyumbani Village- Kitui .
However, we can certainly say that the success of grant funding with Rotary Club of Karen has been exceptional. The partnership forged with the club over a number of years helped enormously and the continuation of our yearly “Service above Self” Rotarian visits to connect with proposed projects is vital.
The latest Global Grant of US$40.098.00 allowed the Nyumbani Diagnostic Laboratory to be completed to the highest ‘state of the art’ standard. Having been internationally accredited a couple of years’ back it still required several pieces of equipment and this were provided by Rotary Foundation through a GG
